Pebble ice is a special type of ice produced by particular icemakers, usually standalone, which is prefered by restaurants and bars for soft drinks and other cold beverages. Its also known as nugget ice or chewable ice, because its small, soft ice pellets are chewable. Unlike traditional (crescent) ice cubes, pebble ice is typically cylindrical or irregularly shaped, with a porous texture that makes it softer and easier to chew.
