Depending on local utility prices, natural gas is usually a cheaper way to generate heat, with yearly energy costs averaging 10%-20% below their electric counterparts. Drying times are also shorter, employing combustion to generate instant heat, compared to an electric coil, which requires time to heat up.
Before purchasing a gas dryer, you will need to ensure your laundry room has the required infrastructure, or find a local plumber to quote the cost of installing gas lines.
