Air Fry is a recent feature provided on certain wall ovens and ranges, first developed by Frigidaire, but now found in many GE and LG models. It employs the same concept of a convection oven: blowing hot air around the oven chamber, only at higher temperatures and with faster airflow, causing the food to crisp and brown more on the outside and cook much faster. It's often used as a quick and easy alternative to deep frying, skipping the hastle and expense of heating up oil which would otherwise have to be thrown out, and avoiding the health risks of high-caloric, deep-fried foods.
